MOMENT OF THOROUGH REFLECTION
MOMENT OF THOROUGH REFLECTION ~ An Account of POST-SAF POLYTECHNIC'S Matriculation Exercise.
It was a mixed feeling for me, after glancing through the pictorial account of the SAF POLYTECHNIC'S MAIDEN MATRICULATION CEREMONY. I was so delighted seeing the dream of having our own very institution of higher learning coming true, with the courses fully accredited. At the same time, I became very sad when I saw what I least expected.
I had expected to see a conglomeration of pioneer matriculating students in their hundreds, with their Academic gowns and caps. But, It was a flabbergasting moment when I spotted less than a hundred pioneer students. This is indeed shocking and very sad.
When we, as an individual ask for a particular thing from God, he most times traces how grateful we are on the previously granted demands, before he grants another. We are waiting on God for a lot of goodies, and this has come. How much do we appreciate it? We spent fortune to study away from home. Good enough! But Is this helping Our Economy or theirs? If National Population Censor is to be undertaken now, where do you think our offsprings studying outside would be counted? And is this to our advantage or vice-versa?. It is important we reflect on these and do things anew.
I'm on this note challenging every household in Iseyin Community as a matter of necessity and in the interest of our Origin, to ensure they are represented in the school by at least a ward/child. And it is also incumbent on the school's management to make the tuition fees, a pocket-friendly one, like I advised in my congratulatory epistle on the day the school was opened.
Being a private institution as it could be, it is still our pride and we MUST make it stand. Let's treat our very own nicely, while we eagerly long for more.
Don't forget I'm handling a course for free when next I visit the school and have that luxury of time.
It can always get better.
