JUNE 12, THE DAY THAT PRODUCED THE PRESUMED LIBERATOR WE NEVER HAD.

Trending on the media are reactions trailing the conferment of posthumours GCFR on Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo, Olawale Abiola Popularly known as MKO, GCON honour on his running mate Baba Gana Kingibe and declaration of June 12 as democracy day replacing the May 29th when same is previously celebrated. I may not be completely good with President Mubammadu Buhari's perceived slow method of government but I think am 100% align with this development.

What more can one say of an egalitarian, disciplinarian and revolutionist like Buhari? who has unimaginably done what our own son, "Ebora Owu" and others considered unnecessary for about 25 years ago, forgetting the fact that we are currently enjoying the fruit of the sacrifice made by that late president we never had. It is human to envy the success that follows an action carried out by the other, when the former ought to have done same, however, a development of this magnitude should neither be politicized nor trivialized. No matter the pin under the carpet, it is indeed a welcome development.

It is high time Nigerians distance themselves from bitter politics and see things the way they should be seen. It is evident that the late sage did his best to sustain democracy we are enjoying today, so conferring him with the most treasured honour of the land is not a big deal, for if he was actually given the mandate and was declared winner of that election, he would have definitely been same honoured.

Plus Hatred minus envy, Abiola was a great hero and the Nation has recognized him as such.  This is in line with Marthin Luther king Jr who said,  "One who breaks an unjust law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arose the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law"

Rest On Kashimawo. You are truly a democrat.

Long Live PMB,
Long Live Lovers of peace and tranquility,
Long Live Nigeria.
